An introduction to Lend a Hand
Lend a Hand is a NFP (not for profit) organisation established to assist those currently not working find and maintain a job. Our aim is foster a more cohesive, responsible and engaged society by providing all people regardless of background or gender with the opportunity and support to take on new challenges, learn new skills and lead social change in their local community. Our programme run all year round and involves a number of structured activities:
Typically ‘Out door type” with a focus on teamwork and challenges;
Planning and then implementing a social action project that benefits the local community.
On-going community work supported through our network of supporters and contributors who increasingly are offered the opportunity to return to the programme as mentors or paid supervisors.
We “make things happen” in the community…
Lend a Hand acts as a lead organisation responsible for programmes structure, budgets and community impact. We work alongside our core partners (Job active providers) in Vic & Old , many who are national charities with long track records of engaging with unemployed/underemployed people and transforming their lives.
As the lead organisation Lend a Hand aims to have a positive impact on the lives of our contributors and their communities.
